Minnie Winona Augustine was born in September of 1898 in Cloud County Kansas the daughter of William T. Augustine and Clara V. Honey.
MInnie was the youngest of four children. She lost her mother in 1912.
After graduation from Concordia High School, Minnie attended Kanas State Agricultural College. There she married Charles Otis Johnston on August 28, 1919.
The Johnston’s remained in Manhattan, Kansas the rest of their days. Charles died in 1965. Minnie remained a widow until her death in 1980.
The Johnston’s had three children: Charles, Jr., Phyllis Jean and Marjorie Ruth Johnston.
